We have not only found our technology can be used in varying ways, we have tested it for customers and are constantly running new pilots and programs to apply our technology to new applications.
Ideas turned into reality:
- By working with one of our customer's unique requests for the custom placement of a tracking unit, Skybitz developed a remote antenna solution that allowed for a more flexible installation. Now our mobile terminals can be mounted inside assets with no line of sight to the sky, but maintain connectivity due to the extended antenna placed conspicuously in a different location. The result of this innovation? The new GLS410, which today serves a much broader market.
- A customer came to us with a concern for protecting their high-value loads. They wanted tracking on both trailer and trucks to ensure both driver safety and cargo safety. To address this concern, SkyBitz developed a panic button to go inside the truck for in case of an emergency. The driver could simply push the panic button and the mobile terminal unit would immediately report the position, allowing the dispatcher in operations to take appropriate action. This custom solution is now available to all customers.
